Description
The content of my honors day presentation is discussing whether or not God exists from a
philosophical view, using skills from critical thinking. In my paper I argue that God doesn’t
exist. The first reason for God not existing is thinking about the logical problem of evil. Based
on this argument, God doesn’t exist because he is not all good. The second reason for God not
existing is thinking about the concept of gratuitous evil. Gratuitous evil are evils that are so evil
that they are past the point of causing enough good to justify their evil. The final reason for God
not existing is the idea that there isn’t any direct effort from God to make people believe in his
existence. This is related to the problem of divine hiddenness/problem of seekers. The
conclusion of this is that based off of these key arguments of looking at the existence of God, he
doesn’t exist.
