Abstract
As writers and artists, we realize the courage it takes to let others read and view our work. We would like to commend all of the contributors for taking that first step. This year we had tremendous response from the student body. When we read the submissions, the authors' names remained anonymous to keep our attention on the content of the work and not the author. Our decisions were difficult because all the submissions were well written, covering many different subjects that dominate our lives. We wish we could have published all of them.
Many people submitted artwork. Although they were excellent pieces and represented a variety of media and contexts, we were able to select only a few. It was astonishing how well the art illustrated the written work, adding an important visual component to this anthology.
We would like to encourage and invite all students who are interested in working for the Pine River Anthology to join our staff next year. Anyone who has any interest in English or Art is also encouraged to contribute by making submissions to the anthology.
We would like to thank those who took time out of their busy schedules to help us put out this magazine. We would especially like to thank our Faculty Advisor Robert Rozier for his input on the production. We are eternally grateful for his assistance.
