Pine River Anthology 2009

Abstract

The world is constantly in flux, constantly changing, and constantly striving for something better. Yet, even as something better is achieved, the world once again sets out to make something even better. It is a never-ending cycle that returns again and again to the place it began. That is the essence of revolution. That the world seeks to better itself and its inhabitants. As human beings, we are a continual part of revolution. We search for something better. We hope for change. And we endeavor to make the world better for our having been citizens of it.

What follows in this edition of the Pine River Anthology are the works of students that carry this hope with them. They are pieces that express the spirit of revolution in its most primal state. They articulate the essence of those human beings searching for something more, who carry that hope for the future inside of them.

The staff of the Pine River Anthology would like to thank all of the students for their submissions and for their desire to share their voices with the world.

A very special thanks goes out to McKay Press for all the wonderful years of printing, and the English and Art Departments, as well as Student Congress, for their monumental support, both monetarily and intellectually.
