Abstract
“Good Art” is hard to define. To one person a piece looks classical, to another old fashioned and unoriginal; to one it is bold, to another abrasive. In selecting for the 2006-2007 Pine River Anthology, we decided to find what moved us. Sometimes we chose a piece that literally moved, with a swirl of color, a clever turn of phrase; other times because it stuck in our heads, made us think. So we chose as our theme “zephyr,” the west wind, the small, light breeze. Little things, accumulated, can change us in monumental ways. We would like to thank McKay Press for many years of service in printing the Anthology, the English and Art Departments and Student Congress for their support, both monetary and intellectual, and all of the artists and writers who poured their hearts into their pieces and subjected them willingly to our judgment. Without each of these little winds, the Pine River Anthology would not function. Thank you.
