Description
What Does Love Sound Like? That is the question I am answering with my new album called “Love Embodied”. Working closely with Dr. Nicole Mattfeld, I will record the Alma College Choir. Using recording techniques taught to me by professional recorders, I will record, mix, master, and produce a choral album both in physical and digital formats. The album is about the different form in which love can present itself, whether it is romantic, familial, friendship, or another form. The album is six to eight songs in length and each song covers a different aspect of love. The reason for this album being made is for multiple reasons. The Alma College choir has not released an album since the early 2000s. This release will give the department more high-quality recordings to use for recruitment as well as the ability to submit to conferences where the choir could perform and, in turn, promote the college on a national level. The market for choral recordings isn’t small, but most recordings are live recordings, which have extra noise, such as chairs squeaking, coughing, and other distracting sounds. The benefit to this recording is that there will be no extra noise, and the focus will be solely on the choir and the intention behind the music. Choral music, compared to popular music, isn’t talked about as much, but my hope is to reach a wider audience with this album and hopefully, listeners will be able to find their own interpretation of what love sounds like.
