Alma students compete against institutions many times its size, so Alma’s success reflects a sustained commitment to rigorous research, disciplined debate and collaborative preparation. Beyond competitive achievements, Alma MUN has gained broader recognition for its impact. The team’s reputation was cemented in popular culture when Alma College MUN became the answer to a Jeopardy! question. This acknowledged Alma MUN team of its remarkable standing in the MUN community. This recognition underscores how a small liberal arts college can shape global discourse through intellectual rigor and student leadership. This presentation explores what makes MUN at Alma College exceptional, which is a culture of mentorship, an emphasis on critical thinking, a tradition of excellence passed down through generations of delegates and the ambition to make a difference. Together, these elements explain why Alma MUN continues to succeed and why it remains one of the college’s most distinguished academic and experiential programs.
