Abstract
Submerge. The word itself implies the act of being entirely surrounded by an enveloping medium. Of course, the first medium that comes to mind is water, for being below its surface means being completely shrouded in its liquid tranquility. However, the same effect of submersion can occur whilst viewing a piece of art or reading a piece of creative writing-one becomes immersed in its beauty, its profundity, its grace, its surprises. At times, it is impossible to see the surface because the work has submerged one to depths far beyond the ocean floor, and has stolen the breath out of one's own lungs.
By fusing the aspects of visual and literary art, this publication is meant to reach out and grab its readers by the ankle, pulling them underwater and submerging them in grace and reverie. So take a deep breath, turn the page, and begin your journey to the depths of our minds' collaborative ocean.
