Abstract
The following pages contain student writing which has met with critical approval from the campus literary group, Parnassians. Contrary to any formality implied in its name, the group meets sporadically over coffee to discuss stories, poems, essays, or any other literary form submitted by students. It is believed that everyone involved, including the author, benefits from this open interplay of critical assessment.
Although the group has been small this year, a high degree of enthusiasm has been maintained among its members. We hope you will agree as you read through these poems and stories that quality has not been affected by the lack of quantity. We wish to thank the faculty advisor for his helpful comments, and also the students of the Art Department who helped to add that visual variety, without which even the most splendid of magazines becomes wearisome.
